What is SCIL? 

The "Sydney Centre for Innovation in Learning" (SCIL) is an embedded innovation unit within, and an activity of, Northern Beaches Christian School, where I have worked since 2002. In 2005 we launched SCIL to galvanise innovation and re-invent learning and schooling without the baggage of the industrial paradigm.

The movement quickly snowballed.

What are we good at? Change. Tinkering. Innovation. Let's try something different, and if it works we'll scale it up, resulting in pedagogy like this, which consists of a range of components, both visible and invisible (you can't see culture directly).

We have 100s of visitors who come for immersion, consulting, or training, and we take the show on the road too. I would love to work with you, dear reader, to explore new ideas in your context. 

I do a lot of spruiking of SCIL here at HappySteve. It's my hobby as well as my job. But this blog is my thoughts, nothing official. And beware: I dump thoughts here well before I have clarity.
